Field of View (FOV) Comparison for Different CCTV Security Camera Lenses.

The Field of View (FOV) produced by a camera is the area that the camera can see. It is an important factor to consider when planning for a security system.

The focal length, or the size of the camera lens, is the main factor that determines the Field of View. Our fixed CCTV security camera lenses range from 2.8mm to 25mm. Camera with a larger size lens, produce the more narrow Field of View, and the shorter viewing distance. On the contrary, camera with a smaller size lens, also known as a wide-angle lens, produce a wider Field of View and longer viewing distance.

If you need precise adjustment to the angle and field of view for your application, a vari-focal lens camera is recommended so that you can adjust the lens to the exact view that you need. SecurityCamera2000 offers vari-focal lenses such as 2.8-12mm, 9mm-22mm, 6-60mm, and 5-100mm etc., if you need these lenses, please feel free to contact us.
