  6. Great Upgrade for Old PTZ Camera

    Posted by C****. on 25th Apr 2015

My existing PTZ camera, bought in 2007 had relatively low 480TVL resolution. Night scenes were very grainy and lacked contrast. I checked with Customer Service explaining my existing camera had dip switch camera settings for 18X and 26X Sony protocol among others. Other than that, I knew very little about my generic no-name camera. They felt it should work and it did to perfection. The 18x setting worked even though this is a 27x Zoom. The new camera fit the mounting bracket but on reassembly, it proved to be about 3/16" too long to move freely in the black plastic inner dome used to hide the camera. However, moving the camera forward and slightly and expanding the front lens opening of the plastic dome allowed free movement. The new camera core has breathed life into to old PTZ. Both night and day vision are amazing.
